NEW DELHI: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday paid tributes to those farmers who died in the on-going farmers’ protest against the new farm laws. Mr Gandhi, in his message, said that the sacrifice and struggle of the farmers will not go in vain and definitely make a difference.
Taking to twitter on Sunday morning, Mr Gandhi wrote in Hindi: ”Farmers’ struggle and sacrifice will certainly bring out results. Salute and tributes to the farmer brothers and sisters.”
The Wayanad MP, along with his tweet, shared a poster having pictures of the farmers, who reportedly died during the protest, reading: “Kisaano Ko Shraddhanjali”.
The poster had also carrying the names of the farmers. Since the beginning of the farmers’ protest against the farm laws, several farmers have reportedly died while protesting. Bracing the harsh weather conditions the protesting farmers have been camping on the Delhi borders for more than 20 days.
Meanwhile, several farmers are observing ”Shaheedi Diwas” today as a tribute to the farmers who lost their lives amidst the movement against the three new agri-reform laws, demanding the repeal of the laws enacted by the Centre.
