NEW DELHI, Dec 31: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday criticized the Central Government for missing the target of administering both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccination to the adult population by December 31.
The Government had set the target of 100 per cent COVID-19 vaccination for the adult population with the first dose under the ”Har Ghar Dastak” programme by December 31.
Taking to twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, The promise of the Central Government was that by the end of 2021, everyone would get both doses of the vaccine. Today is the end of the year- The country is still away from the vaccine, rhetoric shattered! #vaccinateIndia.
Meanwhile, India has administered 143.83 crore vaccine doses as of December 30, 2021, the Health Ministry said in a statement.
More than 63 Lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
In his recent address to the nation Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said more than 141 crore doses have been administered in India. More than 90 per cent of the eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 61 per cent of the nation’s population has received both doses of COVID-19″.
The Government had set the target of inoculating 100 per cent of the eligible population of the country by December 31 with at least the first dose.
Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh became the first state in the country which had fully vaccinated its entire eligible (18-44) population. (Agencies)
