Rahul takes jibe at PM on reports of personal data leak from NaMo App

NEW DELHI: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on reports that user information on the Narendra Modi App was being leaked to American companies.
In a sarcastic remark to Mr Modi, Congree president tweeted ”Hi My name is Narendra Modi. I am India’s Prime Minister. When you sign up for my official App, I give all your data to my friends in American companies.”
Mr Gandhi also alleged that the “mainstream media” was burying critical stories.
”Thanks mainstream media, you’re doing a great job of burying this critical story, as always,” he tweeted.
The tweet by Rahul came after news reports surfaced that a French vigilante hacker had made a stunning revelation accusing Mr Modi of having compromised the personal data of millions of Indians, who had downloaded his personal mobile app.
According to the reports, French vigilante hacker Elliot Alderson, in a series of tweets, alleged that the personal data including emails, photos, genders and names of the users in PM Modi’s mobile app were being sent to a third party domain without their consent.
“When you create a profile in the official Narendra Modi Android app, all your device info (OS, network type, Carrier ?) and personal data (email, photo, gender, name, ?) are send without your consent to a third-party domain called http:n.wzrkt.com (sic)” , Alderson has alleged.
