BHADERWAH, Oct 13: A driver and his navigator, who were participating in “Raid De Himalaya” international car rally, were injured when the vehicle they were driving skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Mush-Dev Nallah on Bhaderwah-Chamba road here today.
As per police sources, a driver and his navigator who were participants of “Raid De Himalaya” international car rally were injured when the vehicle (RJ14UA-0039) they were driving skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Mush-Dev Nallah on Bhaderwah-Chamba road. The accident took place as the driver failed to negotiate sharp curve.
In the accident, driver namely Samrat Yadav, son of Shazad Yadav of Chandigarh and his navigator Gaurav Raina, son of Sham Sunder of Bilaspur, Punjab were injured.
After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and shifted them to Sub-District Hospital, Bhaderwah, from where they were airlifted to PGI Chandigarh by the chopper of Himalayan Motors, the Organizers of the race.
Police has also taken cognizance in this regard.
The nine-day ‘Raid De Himalaya’ car rally started on October 9 from Dalhousie with flagging off a cavalcade of 350 jeeps. It will end on October 17 on the banks of famous Dal Lake in Srinagar.
