Railway budget

Sir,
The Railway budget presented by Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu deserves appreciation as it has not burdened common man with  fare hike. The Railway Minister’s assertion that the present infrastructure would be strengthened rather than announcing new trains is certainly a step in right direction.
There is need to improve sanitation in railway coaches. As the coaches usually remain overcrowded insanitary condition prevails in toilets and coaches. At times passengers do not get water to use. The introduction of bio-toilets in trains will surely help in maintaining them.
Besides, there is urgent need to free the Railway system of tout cultures. The touts have made the life of passengers quite inconvenient.
The Prime Minister has rightly termed it as a passenger-centric budget. The Railway Minister now needs to implement the steps envisaged in the budget in letter and spirit.
Mr Prabhu  in this budget has eschewed the populist policies of his predecessors by tweaking the system in a positive manner that would benefit the Railways, passengers and the country as a whole.
Yours etc…..
