Railway police arrests two drug peddlers

JAMMU, Mar 3: Railway police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered large quantity of intoxicants from their possession.
Based on specific information regarding drug peddling, police party from Railway police station led by SHO Surinder Singh conducted searches of the passengers boarding off from Shalimar Express, SSP Railways Shiv Kumar Sharma said.
On seeing police party, two youths tried to flee, but were chased and apprehended, he added.
During frisking, police recovered 690 intoxicants and 11 bottlers of prohibited medicinal drug from their possession and were arrested on the spot, SSP said.
The peddlers were identified as Ramesh Kumar of Rehari Colony and Raju of Sarwal, he added.
A case under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them at Railway police station and investigation started.
