Railway Station sanctioned for Hillar, Dooru: Mir

DOORU, Jan 24: The Railway authorities have sanctioned a Railway Station at Hillar, Dooru, on the Banihal -Qazigund railway line after the State Tourism Minister, Gh Ahmed Mir took up the demand with Union Railway Ministry.
Addressing a public meeting here today at his home constituency, the Tourism Minister hailed this pro-people step of the Centre Government, adding that the proposed Railway Station would help to boost trade and commerce, besides tourism activities in tehsil Dooru.
The Minister said that people’s cooperation was must for all-round development of the State and called upon them to continue their whole hearted support to the Government to make Jammu and Kashmir a model State of the country.
Mr Mir said that his priority’s as the Tourism Minister would be to expand the scope of tourism activities to the unexplored areas so that maximum population of the State was benefitted by this lucrative industry. He said though the Government during last 4 years has taken several initiatives for the promotion of tourism in all regions of the State, yet there was need to improve tourist related infrastructure facilities, besides development of new spots in the State.
The Minister said that Anantnag district has huge tourism potential, adding that focussed thrust would be paid to extend the tourism activities in the district.
The Minister assured the people that all their genuine demands and developmental needs would be met by making improvement in basic amenities.
The Minister called upon the people to maintain peace and normalcy in the State. He asserted that peace is pre-requisite for carrying forward the developmental agenda in the State and appealed them not to pay heed to propagandas and hollow slogans of vested interests who are admanat to disturb the peaceful situation in the State.
