This refers sanction of Jammu-Poonch Rail line. Jammu-Srinagar – Baramulla rail line is heading towards completion. Further sanctions for extension of Srinagar-Baramulla line to Kupwara and also for new line from Jammu to Poonch have been announced by Central Government. This shows commitment of the present Govt in Centre towards all round development in the country. Sanction of Jammu Poonchh rail line has been welcomed by one and all in J&K.
But already sanctioned Railway Division of Jammu should come up fast as all these areas will be controlled by this Railway Division only. It will be very difficult for the Firozpur Railway Division (presently controlling Division) to handle all these areas, specifically Jammu, Srinagar and Baramulla which has already started working partially (Jammu-Katra & Banihal-Srinagar-Baramulla).But nothing is heard of any progress on Jammu Railway Division.
