Rain causes havoc in various localities

JAMMU, Sept 11: The heavy rain created havoc and caused water loggings in several city localities during early morning today.
The over flow of  water in nallahs and deep drains during heavy rain caused extensive damage to the roads and lanes in several localities while water logging problem was witnessed in many city localities exposing the JMC authorities for laying poor drain system and ill management.
In Jewel Chowk, Dogra Chowk and Canal Road area water logging created problem for the normal movement of traffic. In Channi Rama area, a large portion of already damaged road suffered more damage today, causing inconvenience for the people of the area. The road has virtually been converted into a ‘Khud’ and electricity poles have also been uprooted.  The over flowing water of the drains and nallahs also entered several houses in Gangyal, Nanak Nagar, Preet Nagar, Rajiv Colony and Channi Himmat area today.  Some houses and boundary walls of few houses and a private college also got damaged at Channi Rama during incessant rain today.
