SAMBA, July 29: The Monsoon rain created havoc in Ward No 13 Chack Manga Rakwal area of Samba during intervening night after water entered many residential houses damaging the house hold goods and other valuable items besides damaging the compound walls as well as foundation of houses.
According to the report, a heavy spell of rains during the intervening night created havoc in Ward No 13 of Chak Manga in Samba after the rain water entered in their houses. People said that due to the rain their houses have been damaged and the water logged their rooms with the result all house hold goods as well as valuables were damaged.
They also said that for last many years they are facing lot of trouble during Monsoon season but the concerning authorities did not resolve their problems. Although few years ago there was drainage, but some people have encroached the drain area everywhere due to which there is no drainage system and rain water has no outlet to flow, so it gets accumulated in the lanes and then enters their houses. Due to which they are facing many problems.
The people said that besides damaging the houses and house hold goods as well as valuables, the threat of epidemic looms large due to accumulation of dirty and contaminated water in the lanes and compounds of houses in the area.
The residents said that this morning they called to Sarpanch, Ravinder Singh Lablu and informed regarding this issue. After getting the information Sarpanch immediately reached on the spot and met with people who apprised him of their problem. Later the Sarpanch while highlighting the issue urged the Government to find an everlasting solution to this problem which the people are facing now in every Monsoon or winter rains.
