SRINAGAR, Mar 19:
Fresh rain and snow is predicted during the next 24 hours in the Kashmir valley, where day will become chilly though the minimum temperature will be near normal.
A MeT Department spokesman this evening warned that there could be widespread light to moderate rain, snow or thundershowers over the Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours which could result in drop in the temperature.
Widespread to scattered rain or snow or thundershowers could occur during the subsequent two days in the State, he said.
The sky was cloudy during the day after sun appeared brightly in the morning. However, cloudy sky resulted in drop in the maximum temperature and people could still seen wearing warm cloths.
The summer capital, Srinagar, recorded 13.4 degree maximum temperature, 1.5 notches below normal though minimum temperature was 5.6.
MeT spokesman said there could be light to moderate rain or snow or thundershowers and the maximum temperature will drop further and settled at 9 degree, six notches below normal in the summer capital during the next 24 hours. However, the minimum temperature will be near normal. (UNI)
