Raina compliments PM, Gadkari, HM for sanctioning mega road projects

‘UPA abandoned development works started by Vajpayee’

JAMMU, Apr 12: BJP J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on behalf of people of J&K for sanctioning mega road projects in the UT.
Raina, while talking to reporters here, today said “Road widening projects with construction of new corridors, new roads, tunnels, bridges and flyovers will reduce the travel times, reduce accidents, and increase connectivity within the region as well as increasing the connectivity of J&K with the rest of India. This will boost the industrialization, tourism and better earning avenues in J&K”, he added.
Flanked by former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta former Minister, Sat Sharma, J&K BJP general secretary & former MLC, Vibodh Gupta, BJP National Executive Member and former Minister, Priya Sethi, former MLA, Ashwani Sharma, Raina said “I on the behalf of people of J&K am thankful to the Union Government led by PM Modi for liberally funding mega development projects focusing on road connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir”.
Raina said that it was in Atal Behari Vajpayee’s tenure, when the foundation of strong and smooth road connectivity was laid in J&K. He lamented that under the Congress regime for 10 years from 2004-2014, the works were jeopardized but now they have taken a growth spurt again after 2014 under the strong and decisive leadership of PM Modi. This is contributing immensely to the development of J&K.
Raina said that since 2014, excellent road network have been developed. 40000 crore worth Express Highway is being developed, that Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Express Highway, Samba flyover, Ring road, Jammu-Akhnoor road flyover, Akhnoor-Nowshera-Rajouri road NH connectivity, Poonch-Shopian, Kashmir Valley via tunnel, Sudh-Mahadev road, Sudh Mahadev-Khelani tunnel, Doda-Kishtwar to Kashmir, four lanning of Jammu-Srinagar via Banihal, Marog-Digdol tunnel, Zojilla tunnel, Batote-Doda-Kishtwar, Srinagar-Baramulla, are major landmark decisions of the Modi Government.
The Modi Government has initiated road projects worth 1,25,000 crore. “We thank the Union Government for taking steps for Ring roads, green ways, and Express Highways. There has been tremendous and unprecedented enhancement of round the year connectivity of Ladakh with the rest of India, which will ensure smooth transportation of people as well as security forces. The work over Rohtang has also been tremendous, he added.
The NH status to the Baba Amarnath road, Anantnag-Pahalgam-Chandanwari-Baltal Amarnath Yatra road, Baltal Ropeway Gandola will prove to be the one of the greatest gift of Modi Government to J&K increasing the tourist footfall in the region. These steps will ensure the beautification of the Paradise of Earth, he added.
He said Sadhna Tunnel in Kupwara-Tangdhar will prove to be a boon for the nationalist population of the difficult terrain. Bandipora-Gurez Rajdan tunnel will majorly help the locals. Jammu & Kashmir is rewriting the developmental history with the backing from the Modi Government with the special efforts of Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
