JAMMU, July 12:BJP State president, Ravinder Raina and party MP, Jammu, Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma today called on Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and discussed the prevailing situation in the State with him.
The two leaders, besides discussing various sensitive issues with Union Home Minister also discussed the strategy for completing the various developmental projects on the scheduled time frame with him.
Later both leaders while talking to media persons said that they informed Rajnath Singh about the steps taken for restoration of peace in the Valley and ensuring security to on going Amarnath pilgrims. They also discussed Operation All Out which is going on in Valley and steps taken to weed out terrorism with union Home Minister .
Raina said for BJP nation is first priority and politics is second. On withdrawal of support to Mehbooba Mufti Government, he said for the country’s prestige BJP can sacrifice many such Governments.
He said the running of coalition Government was not totally possible when the anti nationals and terrorists rule the roost, make the army and paramilitary personnel their safe target, attack journalists. “So we withdrew support to the Government’’, he added.
Raina said that Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and party national president, Amit Shah was apprised of the situation in the State before withdrawal of support.
He said in today’s meeting the Union Home Minister was also informed about the prevailing situation in the State in view of the decision taken by the Government regarding holding of Municipal elections. Moreover, the Home Minister was asked to give full authority to security agencies for performing their duties to restore peace in the Valley.
During the meeting the issue of many developmental projects of Jammu including construction of AIIMS, Jammu Lake , four lanning of Jammu-Poonch road and rail line, Jammu Ring Road and feasible compensation to farmers whose land comes under the Ring Road, construction of concrete bunkers in the villages along LOC and IB and recruitment of border area youth in forces was demanded by the two leaders.
Jugal Kishore complimented Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh for fulfilling his promise regarding construction of concrete bunkers in border areas made by him during a rally. He expressed the hope that in future the Union Government will also take such steps to ensure the security and safety of the border people.
