RAJOURI, May 24: District Congress Committee Rajouri has hit out at the BJP President Ravinder Raina and MP Jugal Kishore accusing them of lying to the people and violating social distancing norms and SOPs during visit to GMC Rajouri, just for cheap publicity.
Former minister and President DCC Rajouri, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Vice Chairman DDC Rajouri and others claimed that the BJP leaders faced the wrath of angry people at Sunderbani for their lies and neglect of people as the locals of two border districts are facing hardships due to the failure of BJP leadership in the timely creation of the required health facilities in the border region.
“The MP and BJP leaders could have invited the Principal GMC and Supdt and administration for discussion regarding the health facilities in the Dak bungalow but indulged in photo ops and the drama to get media publicity now, after more than hundreds of people have lost their lives,” they alleged.
They said that the GMC Rajouri lacks huge facilities in terms of manpower and logistics due to utter neglect, as a result people are suffering and dying for lack of adequate facilities.
Khan said 32 doctors including 11 Specialists and 40 paramedics and nursing staff are short besides the sanctioned 3000 LPM Oxygen plant could not be installed so far.
“Only 1000 LPM Oxygen plant has been taken on loan from Baramulla few days back which doesn’t cater to the need of the hospital and the present requirements of two districts. There is no trained staff to make the ventilator supported beds to be fully operational as a result patients suffer,” he added.
Asserting that the GMC Rajouri is the gift of UPA Government and then Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Congress leaders accused the BJP of lying to the people by claiming that Modi Government sanctioned it.
“Congress has already requested LG to meet the shortfalls in the health facilities in GMC Rajouri and other important hospitals, on war footing besides upgradation of facilities in other hospitals in two districts to save the precious lives,” they added.
The signatories include DDC members Sain Abdul Rasheed and Qayoom Mir, Sushil Sharma, Rajesh Bittu Councillor, Vijay Sharma and others.
