KATHUA, July 18: While terming the clearance of Ujh Multipurpose Project by SAC a great achievement, BJP State president, Ravinder Raina and its general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh reiterated that Modi Government at Centre is committed to fulfill all the commitments made for the welfare of the people in this strife -torn State.
In their separate statements, the BJP leaders said that their party is for justice to all and appeasement to none and Modi Government is working on the same principle. They said that UJh and Shahpur Kandi projects which could have changed the fate of the people especially in Kandli belt of Kathua were deliberately kept in abeyance by the previous governments for their vested political interests. Taking a dig at Congress and NC which ruled the State for 65 years , they said that the leaders of two parties never took pains to through these projects in the larger interests of the people of this region as construction of these projects would not only have improved the economy of the people in Kandi belt of Kathua and Samba but changed the fate of the common man also.
Maintaining that BJP is committed to fulfill its all commitments with the people, they also gave full credit to the Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh for vigorously pursuing these projects with the concerned ministries in Central Government. Lambasting the previous governments, the BJP leaders said that construction of major projects to boost the economy of Jammu people has never been their concern otherwise Shapur Kandi would have been through over 30 years back.
Meanwhile, celebrating the clearance of Rs 450 crore Ujh Project, the BJP activists today held a rally in Kathua town and termed it the great achievement of the party as well as the Narendra Modi led Government at Centre.
The rally was held under the chairmanship of BJP district president, Prem Nath Dogra and it was attended by several leaders of BJP and BJYM activists of the district.
The jubilant party activists danced to the drum beats and congratulated each other for the clearance of Ujh project which will change the fate of the Kandi belt in twin districts of Samba and Kathua.
Addressing the rally, Prem Nath Dogra, district BJP president said that with the clearance of Ujh Project and earlier signing the MoU with Punjab Government on much talked about Shahpur Kandi project will change the fate of people in the twin districts especially in Kandi belt. Besides, irrigating thousands of kanals of agriculture and horticulture land these projects will add to the power generation as well as provide drinking water facilities to the people in the area. He said this way economy of farmers will improve and the Kandi belt will no more be called Kandi as has been already stated by Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh while pursuing the two projects with Government of India.
BJYM, National Executive Member and in charge Punjab, Bharat Sharma also addressed the rally and said that this shows that BJP is wedded to its commitments made to the people.
