BHUBNESHWAR, Jan 6 : Rajarani, Mukteswar, and International Odissi Dance Festivals will be held in the capital city of Bhubaneswar to feature classical dance Odissi as well as classical music.
These dance festivals will be held in the capital city Bhubaneswar from January 7 to 11.
While the International Odissi Dance Festival will be held at Rabindra Mandap, the Rajarani Sangeet Mahotsav will be held at the Rajarani Temple Mantok and the Mukteswar Odissi Dance Festival at the Mukteswar Temple Mantok.
This year, the International Odissi Dance Festival will feature performances by renowned Odissi dancers and gurus Kumkum Mohanty, Ileana Sitarist, Durga Pracharan Ranbir, Jhelum Paranjpe,and Shoren Loewen.
In addition, solo, duet, and group Odissi dance performances by prominent Odissi dance artists will be performed at the Mukteswar Odissi Dance Festival, while Hindustani, Carnatic, and Odissi music will be performed at the Rajarani Sangeet Festival.
Culture Minister Suryavansi Suraj said classical dance and music are Odisha’s culture and identity.
The Rajarani Sangeet Mahotsav, Mukteswar Odissi Dance Mahotsav, and International Odissi Dance Mahotsav are being organized coinciding with the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in the capital.
He said guests from the state and outside the country will be able to learn about our classical dance and music, as well as our culture and glorious traditions through these festivals which also promote the art and culture of Odisha at the international level.
