Rajbagh police rescues 12 bovines, arrests one

KATHUA, Dec 29: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, Kathua police has foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 12 bovines near NHW Rajbagh, one person was arrested and the vehicle used for smuggling of animals was seized.
A police team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO Police Station (PS) Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan-while performing regular vehicle checking duty at NHW Rajbagh noticed a truck bearing Registered Number JK02AL-2627 enrouted from Lakhanpur towards Kashmir Valley. The truck was being driven by Sajad Ahmed, son of Khadam Hussain of Sidhra, tehsil Mughal district Poonch. During the checking of the vehicle, 12 bovines were found loaded in it illegally.
The vehicle was seized, all the 12 bovines were rescued by police team and one person was arrested on spot. A case FIR Number 272/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA Act has been registered at Rajbagh Police Station and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
