Rajbagh police rescues 17 bovines, arrests driver, seizes truck

Kathua, June 29 : Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today rescued 17 bovines and seized one vehicle and arrested one bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh at NHW in Rajbagh area.
Police said a team of Rajbagh Police Station led by Inspector, Amit Sangra , SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during naka checking duty at NHW Opposite to PS Rajbagh noticed one suspicious truck bearing Registration Number JK02CD-2627 enrouted from Lakhanpur towards Jammu which was being driven by one Tariq Hussain, son of Darya Mohammad of Jandrolla tehsil , Mandi district Poonch.
During checking the police team noticed that 17 bovines were brutally tied with ropes in very less space without feeding.
Police rescued all the 17 bovines including eight cows and nine oxen, seized the truck and arrested one person. A case vide FIR No. 135/2022 U/S 188/IPC,11 PCA act has been registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation was sent into probe in this regard.
