Rajendra calls SSP Mohali

JAMMU, Mar 21: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today contacted on phone, SSP Mohali in Punjab and discussed different aspects with him regarding the incident which took place on March 15, at village Chilla in Sector 81 of Mohali.
He enquired from the SSP the facts which led to the untoward incident in which some J&K students were harassed by some locals.
Mr. Rajendra was told that FIR has already been registered against the culprits and speedy investigation is going on. He asked the SSP to take stern action against the accused involved in the incident and book them under law.
He also asked the SSP to take all preventive measures to avoid such incidents in future and ensure the safety of J&K students. He said that the students from J&K studying in other States should not feel insecure and steps at different levels shall be taken to ensure that they feel themselves in a congenial atmosphere.
