JAMMU, Dec 23: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar flagged off a group of 40 youth on a tour to village Pransla Rajkote in Gujarat. The tour organised by JKP under its Civic Action Programme is to connect the youth of the State with the rich heritage and culture of the country.
Speaking on the flag off ceremony, Mr. Rajendra disclosed that the students would participate in 18th Rashtirya Ekta Shivir to be held at Village Pransla from December 27th to January 3rd, 2016.
The DGP disclosed that the camps will be attended by the youth of different states, besides a number of prominent and eminent personalities including Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari, Union Home Minister, Raj Nath Singh, Governors of Gujarat, Goa, Harnaya and Uttraranchal, Chief Minister of Gujarat, ISRO Chief, Chairman, Prasar Bharti, Governor Reserve Bank of India and three service Chief. He said the dignitaries would deliver their lecturers on national integration and social harmony.
Mr. Rajendra advised the touring youth to grab the opportunity and acquaint themselves with cultural diversity of India and remain committed to nation’s progress by inculcating a sense of patriotism.
Among others, the function was attended by ADGPs SP Vaid, Navin Aggerwal, SM Sahai and L Mohanty, IGPs, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, AG Mir, Yoginder Koul, MA Khan, Rajesh Kumar, Danish Rana, Jagjit Kumar, and Viplav Kumar. AIGPs, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mahmood, Kulbir Singh and Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, C.O. Armed, Dileep Kumar, Sr.ADO (PHQ), BA Shah and other police officers.
