JAMMU, Dec 4: A group of 32 probationary IPS officers from National Police Academy Hyderabad (NPA) today called on Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today and deliberated on different aspects of policing.
The DGP asked the officers to make public service their motto, upholding integrity and sovereignty of the nation. He said that good deliverance in public service and efficient supervision are the factors, which lead a professional police officer to achieve the goal. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police after facing tough challenge of militancy has gained much experience and is at par with premier police forces of the country now. He said that the force has increased its proficiencies at various fronts of policing and we are continuously focussing to upgrade our different components.
Mr. Rajendra during his interaction with the probationary officers gave them a detailed expertise on counter insurgency, crime detection, law and order maintenance and other areas of policing. The probationers were briefed about the intelligence grid and coordination with other sister agencies in the State to get desired results.
The DGP said that perfect mechanism is in place and every agency involved in maintenance of peace has a defined role and everyone has to work in a coordinated atmosphere to thwart the ill designs of anti national elements. He said that State police has to face multi-natured situations in different regions of the State and humane approach is necessary to gain hearts and minds of the people. Involvement of youth in community policing and use of latest technology in infiltration, crime detection, cyber crime and other crimes has paid good dividends.
Mr. Rajendra, emphasising upon the importance of coordination among different law enforcing agencies said that coordinated efforts help to chalk out a common strategy to fight any challenge posed by the anti national elements and criminals.
Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (Security), V K Singh threw light on the security network of JKP. He informed the probationary officers about different categories of security being provided to the protected persons and visiting dignitaries and delegations.
Meanwhile, IGP Jammu, Danesh Rana interacted  with 34 IPS Officers of 66 RR Batch 2014 of different States of the Country at Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu.
He also briefed the probationers regarding collection of intelligence related inputs connected with militancy and timely sharing the same with all concerned agencies to achieve the desired results.
On Border management, IGP Jammu Zone gave detailed briefing to the probationer IPS Officers with regard to the issues emerged due to ceasefire violation on International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) and problems being faced by the Police/Civil Administration while dealing with the situation in border area.
