Rajendra reviews security arrangements for President’s visit

JAMMU, Aug 31: A high level meeting was held at Police Control Room (PCR) here this evening to review the security arrangements ahead of President’s visit to Jammu.
The meeting was chaired by Director General of Police (DGP),  K. Rajendra Kumar, besides senior officers from police, civil, intelligence and Central police paramilitary forces were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, all security arrangements of President’s visit including the routes and venues were discussed in threadbare. Deployment of manpower from different forces and intelligence agencies was also discussed in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Rajendra stressed for greater synergy among different agencies and forces being deployed for the security of VVIP. He said that the common strategy would be adopted to ensure peaceful visit of the President.
Officers representing different security agencies briefed the meeting about the required security arrangements to be put in place in advance of the visit.
Traffic arrangements were also discussed and it was decided that public transport would be diverted to alternate routes so that common people do not face any inconvenience due to the security arrangements.
Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the officers to share inputs regarding the activities of suspicious elements and to ensure required preventive measures to foil any ill designs of such elements. He said that during the visit law and order should be ensured and for this purpose peoples cooperation should be sought.
The DGP asked to utilize the services of security gadgets including CCTV Cameras enroute the visit and the venues. He said that comprehensive communication network would be established to coordinate among the agencies involved in the security of the VVIPs .
Among others the meeting was attended by ADGP (Security), J&K, V.K. Singh, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu, IGPs, Dr.B. Srinivas, Rajesh Kumar, P.R. Manhas, Shafakat Ali Wattali, DIGs, Shakel Ahmad Beigh and Nisar Ahmad, SSP, Jammu, Uttam Chand, SSP Traffic, Pawan Parihar, SSP, NH, Dr. Habeeb Mughal and other officers from police and security agencies.
