JAMMU : IPS Officer Rajesh Kumar today took over as the new Inspector General of Police of Jammu Zone replacing Dilbagh Singh, who has been elevated as Additional Director General of Police and appointed as MD State Police Housing Corporation.
At a function held here this afternoon, Mr Kumar was handed over the charge by the newly-promoted ADGP Dilbagh Singh.
The new IGP had earlier held important assignments in various wings of State Police.
As Deputy Inspector General of Police, he has served in both the militancy hit Rajouri-Poonch, Anantnag and Baramulla ranges and served as Director SSG.
He also remained SSP Rajouri twice, SSP Udhampur and SSP Jammu. (AGENCIES)
