NEW DELHI, July 4: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today lauded India’s emergence as global IT power and exhorted young technocrats to take pride in rich knowledge, local language and cultural heritage of the country.
Delivering speech at the convocation of Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology in Noida, Mr Singh reiterated the Modi government’s commitment of facilitating huge investment and generating employment avenues for youth under the ambitious ‘Digital India’ Programme.
“India today is recognised globally for its contribution to Information Technology(IT), he said, adding,”Our government is committed to providing digital governance to the people.”
He said, “Our software engineers have made the country proud with their talent and sheer hard work and we are needed to tap India’s full potential in IT sector.
“Digital India” programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only attract investments but also give jobs to nearly 18 lakh youth in the country.”
Mr Singh exhorted youngsters to take pride in country’s rich cultural heritage. literature and regional language.
“I am not against English, but what I want to convey to you is that you should also take due pride in the local language and mother tongue.” (UNI)
