RAJOURI, Apr 10: Rajouri Day celebrations, a three-day event, began today at ALC Ground Rajouri town with the inauguration by the GOC, Ace of Spades Division.
The year long festivities were inaugurated today with a formal interaction with the invited families of the physical and battle casualty soldiers with the officials of both, military and civil administration with an aim to examine and resolve their grievances.
A large number of stalls/ booths were set up by the Army Record office, Recruitment office, Education, Health departments, besides agencies associated with issuing Aadhar cards, Pan Cards, Banks etc. The families of martyrs were also felicitated with mementos and gifts by the GOC, Ace of Spades Division.
Rajouri Day is celebrated on April 13 every year to pay homage to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for liberation of Rajouri from the rebels and Pakistan Army personnel who had infiltrated from across the border in 1948.
This year again, the White Knight Corps is celebrating this historic occasion with grandeur and utmost enthusiasm. Year 2019 is being celebrated as the ‘Year of Next of Kin of Indian Army specifically aimed at addressing the problems being faced by the families of the gallant soldiers who had lost their lives in the line of duty.
