Rajouri Women PS settles 96% matrimonial conflict cases

RAJOURI, Apr 19: Keeping priority of settling minor matrimonial conflicts in a friendly way, Rajouri police has settled 96 % matters through counselling which were brought in the notice of Women Police Station Rajouri – Poonch during 2017 by way of filing of complaints.
A senior Police official said that a number of matrimonial conflicts/ issues were reported to  Women Police Station Rajouri-Poonch, located at Rajouri,  which were easily solved in a cordial and friendly manner by involving family elders through counselling.
Police have zero tolerance policy towards cognizable offences and acts and has registered 43 FIRs in Women Police Station in 2017 and stern legal action has been initiated against people involved in such acts.
However, in Women Police Station, main priority of the staff is to settle all the minor issues in a friendly manner so that families are saved from disintegration.
In 2017, 1055 complaints were received at this Police Station in Rajouri out of which 1012 were solved amicably through counselling.  Most of the complaints in Women PS are related to household conflicts like quarrel between family members, husband – wife etc and such minor issues are dealt in a friendly way and both families are made to sit together where an unanimous solution is made and all such attempts of friendly policing are made to save families as even small conflicts can led to divorce or other extreme situations.
Officers of Women Police Station Rajouri – Poonch including SHO Sushma Thakur and DySP Shazia Mir personally supervised all the meetings. Settling majority of issues in a cordial atmosphere is a major achievement of police which has  prevented 96% families from getting disturbed. However,  in complaints like that of  cruelty of husband, harassment by in laws, rape cases, eve- teasing, dowry, prevention of immoral trafficking act, sexual or physical exploitation etc, police has zero tolerance policy and cognizance has been taken on merits.
