SAMBA, Nov 27: Rajput youth of Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha led by Mangleshwar Singh, Chairman Youth Wing and youth president Pawan Singh Chib held a protest at Gurah Slathia in Samba district and Jammu University respectively against screening of film ” Padmawati” in the State.
The protesters raising slogans demanded immediate ban on screening this film in the State.
Large number of youth participated in the protests at both the places against screening of film “Padmawati” in the State and demanded its complete ban. The youth alleged that in film the Producer has distorted the story of Maharani Padmawati, which is not based on facts and this will be no longer tolerated.
The youth further said that contents of the feature film “Padmawati” as per reports in the media are likely to hurt the sentiments of commoner including Rajputs in particular and may cause potential threat to peace and tranquilly in the State and as such imposition of ban on the screening of film “Padmawati” is the best solution to maintain law and order in the State.
The youth said that “Padmawati” was Maharani of Rajasthan and very pious, bold and charactered Rani. “She is still an idol for all of us. Any derogatory scenes in the picture shall be against character of Rajputs and dealt with severely”, they added.
At Gurah Slathia district Samba, the prominent youth who participated in the protests were Posha Slathia, Sidharth Slathia, Akhil Slathia, Shibu Slathia, Ashok Slathia, Kulveer Slathia, Ramneek Slathia, Bablu Slathia, Pankaj Slathia and others.
In Jammu University prominent youth who participated in the protests were Sahil, Aman Slathia, Harshwardhan Singh Jamwal, Sandeep Chib, Arvind Jaral, Chandan Singh, Sunny Parihar and others.
