JAMMU, Nov 15: Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ received prestigious Bal Sahitya Award-2022 in Dogri language for his collection of short stories entitled ‘Sikh Matt’.
Chandershekhar Kambar, president Sahitya Akademi New Delhi presented the award in a ceremony organized at New Delhi.
On this occasion Prakash Manu, an eminent Hindi writer was the chief guest whereas Madhav Kaushik, vice president Sahitya Akademi also shared the dais with Secretary Sahitya Akademi, K. Sreenivasarao, who conducted the proceedings of function and presented vote of thanks also.
The 23 Bal Sahitya Puraskar awardees were honoured on this occasion.
While sharing his experiences in Awardees Meet held, ‘Raju’, an author of 19 books and several plays, serials and documentaries for Akashwani and Doordarshan in English, Hindi and Dogri languages, said some precious moments that he used to share with his kids through story telling at Mumbai where he was posted few years back was the backdrop that instigated him to pen down some stories for children.
