Rajya Sabha adjourned till noon over Telangana, price rise

NEW DELHI: Proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were disrupted over the creation of a separate state of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh and price rise, leading to adjournment of the House till this noon.
Soon after the House met for the day, TDP members reached near the Well carrying posters and shouting slogans against the creation of Telangana.
Members of the Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress raised the issue of price rise of essential commodities.
AIADMK, DMK, Left parties members were also raising some issues which could not be heard amid prevailing din.
The protest, which disrupted the Question Hour, forced Chairman Hamid Ansari to adjourn the House till 1200 hrs.
Earlier, Dr Ansari read out a reference on the World Human Rights Day today.
The Winter Session is scheduled to end on December 20. (AGENCIES)
