JAMMU, Apr 27: One of the leading city businessmen, Rakesh Gupta contesting Chamber elections for the post of president has assured the members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to produce desired results if he was elected tomorrow for the post.
Mr Gupta during his campaign and meeting with several groups of trade and industry has expressed his resolve to project their issues forcefully and bring desired results. He claimed that even in one year, he will prove his performance and leave no stone unturned to produce the results. He pointed out that for the past overt two years now, no major issues regarding trade and industry concerning Jammu were taken up or pursued with the concerned Government departments.
Mr Gupta who had also contested Chamber elections during 2009, alleged that trade and industry continued to suffer by inaction and apathy. He appealed the members to provide him a chance and support fully for his success in the elections this time. He claimed that he would sincerely pursue all the issues given in the manifesto after he comes to power.
“I don’t believe in petty politics and shall run the prestigious office of the president of the CCI by taking suggestions from every member treating them equally”, Mr Gupta maintained.
He said that he was well aware of all the issues of the traders and industrialists. All the problems and issues regarding Club, industry incentives/ subsidy, harassment at Lakhanpur etc will be taken up vigorously with the concerned authorities.
