MUMBAI, Apr 21: Rakesh Mahajan, in charge All Cells BJP J&K met Devender Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra here, today and discussed multiple issues related to the Jammu and Kashmir and areas of mutual interest between Maharashtra and J&K.
During the meeting the areas of main focus remained the tremendous potential vis-à-vis trade and industries and tourism sectors of J&K in which Maharashtra can play a vital role in the common interest of the people of J&K as well as Maharashtra.
Rakesh Mahajan apprised Fadnavis that presently there is a need to set up small scale industries in Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar regions of the J&K UT and the J&K Government is extending full support to industrialists to set up their new ventures in the UT in the form of incentives specially meant for industrial sector. He said that Gujarat has already a rich industrial culture with some globally renowned industrialists dominating the scene. He said that with the proactive efforts of Gujarat Government, most of the industrialists from Gujarat would definitely come forward to establish their ventures in J&K too thus expanding the horizons of their business as well as playing a vital role in transformation of J&K the crown of the nation.
Rakesh Mahajan also apprised the Dy CM of Maharashtra about the rich tourist potential of J&K and said it is a prominent destination for travel and hotel industry and people interested in opening new vistas of entrepreneurship in this choicest international destination can fulfil their business targets in the said sector in a very short span of time.
He requested the Maharashtra leader to initiate efforts at the official level to make the entrepreneurs of Maharashtra as also the people aware about the opportunities awaiting them in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mahajan asserted that the scenario in Jammu and Kashmir has changed totally since the BJP Government came to power at the Centre especially after abrogation of Article 370 and today there is complete normalcy in the UT with peace and prosperity ruling the roost after three decades of terrorism onslaught. He also extended an invitation to Dy CM Fadnavis to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
The Maharashtra Dy CM Fadnavis assured Mahajan that he would make all efforts to increase cooperation between Maharashtra and J&K especially in the areas of mutual interest.
