Ram Kund Mandir Mela concludes

MENDHAR, Apr 10: Following the guidelines issued by the Government in the wake of Corona epidemic, hundreds of devotees from Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu area thronged Ram Kund Mandir at Mendhar during two-day Mela which concluded here today.
This fair is organized every year on `Chetar Choudas’ and a large number of devotees participate in it with great religious fervour and enthusiasm. Click here to watch video
Management Committee of the temple led by its chairman, 1008 Mahant Shri Sita Ram Das Ji Maharaj organized the affair. The devotees had holy bath in the Ram `Kund’ (pool of water) and offered special prayers during this three day affair.
A traditional ‘Charri Yatra’ was taken out from Hanuman Temple, Mendhar to the Ram Kund Mandir on first day to declare open the Mela. Devotees, who had come to the fair expressed their displeasure with the District administration, saying that the road leading to the Ram Kund temple from village Chhajla Chowk in Mankote tehsil is in a bad condition.
They revealed that local Administration was told many times about this, but no one paid any more attention to it. They said that Ram Kund is considered like other places of pilgrimage in the country where the faith of millions of people is connected and a grand fair is organized on this day every year, but even after seeing all this, no proper arrangements were made here.
Prominent among those who participated in Mela included Vishav Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, DDC/ BDC Members, Police and Civil officials.
