Ramakrishana Mission saints visit Nunwan Base Camp, offer medical aid for pilgrims

SRINAGAR, July 20: President of Belur Math of Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Vimalatmananda, who happens to be a trustee and governing body member of the Mission, today visited Nunwan Base Camp of Shri Amarnathji Yatra and expressed his desire to provide free medical aid and other facilities to the pilgrims in future.
Swami Vimalatmananda took a round of the Base Camp along with Amit Sharma, Camp Director and his team including Farooq Ahmed Khan (incharge of concerned police post), DGM Works Pardeep Sharma, volunteer Raees Lone and others.
Swami Ji was accompanied by Swami Ritatmananda (secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Kashmir) and his other disciples. The team of Nunwan Base Camp led by Camp Director Amit Sharma received Swami Ji and other saints of Ramakrishna Mission apprised them about the facilities available there.
While interacting with Camp Director, Swami Vimalatmananda expressed a noble desire that they want to actively contribute for Shri Amarnathji Yatra in future in terms of providing free medical aid, other facilities to the pilgrims through the Mission which shall be delighted to serve pilgrims coming from all across the length and breadth of nation during the Yatra every year.
He further disclosed that Swami Vivekananda himself visited the Holy Cave in 1898 through this traditional route before returning to Belur Math and renouncing this world including his body at a very tender age of 39 years. “Therefore, Ramakrishna Mission always have had a special attraction and affections towards getting actively associated with Shri Amarnathji Yatra and contribute in the best possible manner with it in future,” he added.
The Camp Director assured the saints that their desire to serve the Amarnath pilgrims will be passed to all concerned authorities for consideration. Before leaving, Ramakrishna Mission team complimented Camp Director and his team for maintaining a clean and vibrant atmosphere within the Nunwan Base Camp.
