Ramakrishna Mission reviews activities

JAMMU, Dec 15: The 104th annual general meeting of the Ramakrishna Mission was held today at Belur Math in West Bengal, which reviewed achievements and activities undertaken during the year. After deliberating upon the pros and cons of the functioning of the Mission, its general secretary Swami Suhitananda released a synopsis of the report
The four-year-long service programmes started by the Ramakrishna Mission in different parts of the country in 2010 continued with a sum of Rs. 51.77 crore spent on these Central Government-aided service projects till June 2013. Similarly both the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission took up various prestigious projects in fields of education, medicare and rural development, in India as well as abroad.
Several relief and rehabilitation programmes were organized in different parts of the country involving an expenditure of Rs 2.26 crore, benefiting 4.94 lakh people belonging to around 1 lakh families in 415 villages.
A number of rural and tribal development projects were undertaken with a total expenditure of Rs. 41.26 crore benefiting about 42.67 lakh rural people.
Swami Suhitananda thanked the members for their cooperation and help in making the Mission a great success.
