RAMBAN, Aug 4: Amid increasing water level in river Chenab, District Administration Ramban has issued an advisory asking people to refrain from approaching the Chenab’s banks and to stay away from the river.

District Magistrate Ramban, issued an advisory stating, “It has been brought to our attention that due to substantial rainfall, water level of river Chenab in the upstream of Kiru Dam is rising which shall also impact the water level in Baglihar Dam and further downstream of river Chenab”.
In light of this situation and in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the general populace/travellers/drivers, it is hereby advised to refrain from approaching the river Chenab’s banks as swift currents can be extremely hazardous. The public in general is urged to remain calm and vigilant.
“Continuous updates on water levels in the river will be provided via our official social media channels,” advisory issued by the District Magistrate, Ramban said.
