JAMMU, Mar 31: While creating a new history on his 29th ‘Sannyas Divas’, Yogarishi Swami Ramdev dedicated to the nation hundreds of ‘sannyasies’ (hermits) accomplished in the field of Ashtadhyayi, Mahabhashya Vyakaran, Vedas, Vedangs and Upanishads.
These ‘Sannyasies’ include 60 scholarly celibate (brahmachari) brothers and 40 scholarly sisters. On the occasion, Ramdev also gave ‘diksha’ to about 500 ‘naishtik’ (atheistic) brahmacharis.
Speaking on the occasion, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the biggest sacrifice is of the parents of the new hermits who raised their children and dedicated them to the country, religion, culture and humanity. “Dedicating such a large number of hermits to the service of the country at once is like establishing ‘Ramrajya’, realizing the sage tradition and fulfilling the dream of a future spiritual India,” he added.
Swami Ramdev said that the new hermits are getting committed to a big resolution while living in the limits of ‘sannyas’, Vedas, Guru and Shastras. “Entering directly into ‘sannyas’ from ‘brahmacharya’ is the greatest act of bravery,” he asserted. Ramdev said that in the form of these hermits, they are dedicating the successors of their sages to the propagation of Indian culture and tradition.
Before this, considering the deities, sages, Surya, Agni etc as witnesses amidst Vedmantras, the main ‘Virja Hom’ and ‘Mundan Sanskar’ were performed for all Sannyasies initiates. They were brought with a procession to VVIP Ghat Haridwar where Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna welcomed them by showering flowers. Keeping in mind the cleanliness of Mother Ganga, all the hermits were tonsured in Rishigram itself. Symbolically, all the hermit initiates immersed the ‘Shikhasutra’ and ‘Yagyopaveet Pateet’ in the holy water of the mother Ganga.
After bathing in the Ganga, all the sages left their white clothes and wore saffron clothes. After that, 100 hermit initiates were given holy ‘sannyas’ resolution by anointing with Ganga water 108 times with the mantras of ‘Purushsukta’ on their heads by Swami Ramdev and other prominent saints.
In the programme, Acharya Balkrishna being a hermit is the biggest responsibility and pride by being free from all desires, irrational desires and sensual pleasures. “For a hermit, the purpose of life should be to maintain continuity in Guru’s loyalty, duty and dedication,” he added.
