JAMMU, Apr 6: International Master Himanshu Sharma emerged sole leader on day three of the on going Ramit Memorial All India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament organised by All J&K Chess Association at Patnitop here today.
In the tournament, Atul Kumar and Sumit Grover of J&K and DK Chopra of New Delhi were jointly at second spot.
During todays’ matches, Sumit Grover of J&K thrashed Himanshu Sharma of Haryana, Nandan Buragohain of Assam routed Shekhar Verma of MP and Atul Kumar of J&K outplayed Ajit Singh of J&K.
DK Chopra of New Delhi thrashed Biswajit Bharadwaj of Assam, Harshita Guddanti of MP outclassed Ramalingam P Kar and Rather Adil Ashraf of J&K trounced Khalid Amin of J&K.
Trinabh Chokhani of Assam thrashed Rajesh Handa of New Delhi, Shivinder Chib of J&K routed Ayush Pattanaik of MP and Nishi Mahalaxmi Iyer of WB defeated Puneet Choudhary.
Akriti Kotwal of J&K trounced Asokan A Kar, Ravi Sharma of J&K routed Vikhyaat Mehta of J&K and Agarwal PC of New Delhi outplayed Kumar Sunil of New Delhi.
Chatanya Sharma of J&K routed Brij Mohan Gupta of New Delhi, Arushi Kotwal of J&K defeated Bibaswan Deba Mishra of Assam and Rawat RS of New Delhi thrashed Vilakshan Mehta of J&K.
Rishabh Baruah of Assam trounced Navdeep Singh of J&K and Meenal Gupta of J&K defeated Amarnath of AP.
On the occasion, Pranesh Yadav, International Arbiter was the Chief Arbiter while Baldev Raj, general secretary, All J&K Chess Association was also present.
