UDHAMPUR, Oct 7: Ridiculing the slogans of “development” “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” and “Achhe Din” given by Central and J&K Governments over the last four years, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP chairman and former Minister expressed grave concern over the pathetic plight of the people inhabiting the rural as well as urban areas of the State.
Addressing public rallies at Ward Numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 in Ramnagar town today, Harsh said that during his tour of various Municipal wards of Municipal Committee Ramnagar to take stock of the burning problems faced by the people, he discovered that the poor, indigent, deprived people were left at the mercy of God not only by the local administration but by the elected representatives as well.
He came down heavily on the Government for stalled development in Ramnagar resulting in widespread public resentment. He said that while no new developmental project had been initiated in the constituency during the last four years, the on-going schemes had come to a grinding halt.
Making a particular mention of the university satellite campus at Dalsar Ramnagar whose 95% construction work had been completed by the end of 2014, he regretted the abandonment of the project immediately after the change of guard. He said that similar was the fate of Krishi Vigya Kendra (KVK) sanctioned for Ramnagar under the aegis of Agricultural University during 2013 and ITI approved for Ramnagar during the same period.
Similar was the fate of Hostel Complex of Degree College Ramnagar whose construction work was stopped around taken to 4 years back with no action revive the same.
Expressing grave concern over the deplorable plight of pot-holed and bumpy roads in various Municipal wards as well as in villages desperately crying for repairs, Harsh lamented non initiation of any action for renovation of the same.
Commenting upon the degeneration in the power sector, Harsh expressed serious concern over the huge un-scheduled cuts, extremely low voltage problem and non repairs of transformers damaged for weeks together.
