MENDHAR, Jan 4: Reit-erating his commitment of making Mendhar a Model Assembly segment, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana today stressed the need to constitute Rajouri-Poonch Development Council and sanction special development projects for border belt.
Addressing public convention at Mendhar town today the MLA focussed on the need of setting up of Regional Council for Poonch and Rajouri. He said there is need to take special developmental initiatives in border areas of twin districts.
Rana reiterated his commitment of working tirelessly for fulfilling this dream.
” Besides start of new developmental projects in Mendhar, I have also paid due concern towards resuming the works which were pending for the past several years,” Rana said.
He further asked people to remember that he is an opposition MLA and have to struggle a lot as compared to ruling party MLAs.
He said that setting of Eklavya Model Residential School at Behra in Mendhar, Cluster Model Village project are among a number of developmental projects which he has managed to get sanctioned for Mendhar segment. MLA alleged that due to Government’s callous attitude, a number of road projects of Mendhar stand shelved.
Rana also said that time has come to fulfill the demand of Regional Council for Rajouri and Poonch and appealed people to vote for National Conference in all seven assembly segments of Rajouri and Poonch in the next Assembly polls so that National Conference can fulfill the developmental aspirations of people of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Referring to border areas development, Rana said that border areas of Rajouri and Poonch are under-developed and time has come to pay much needed focus by Government in border areas for which special developmental initiatives should be taken.
Among other senior leaders, Ex -MLC Chowdhary Rahim Dad, Bagh Hussain Rathore, NC District president Chowdhary Wali Dad, Peer Mazar Hussain Shah, Showket Choudhary, Haji Mohd Rashid and all block presidents and secretaries were present on the occasion.
