Rana raises issue of water scarcity, Sat demands enhancement in age limit to appear in KAS exams

SRINAGAR, June 25: Several members today raised various issues of public importance during the Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly.
Ch. Mohammad Akram raised the issue of lack of promotions being granted to the employees working in CA&PD Department under various categories. Responding to the issue, the Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said Government is considering to reorganise the department, which would create more avenues for career advancement for the employees in the department.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar said that there is shortage of irrigation water facilities in Ellaqi Faak and demanded that the Government should ensure irrigation water facilities to the farmers.
Usman Abdul Majid urged the Government to take steps to address the issue of water scarcity in various hilly areas of the State.
Aijaz Ahmad Mir asked the Government to formulate a policy regarding beggars who often annoy people at traffic signals and tourist places. He said the Government should look into the issue on priority.
Mian Altaf Ahmad said the Zakura to Wayil Bridge road is in deteriorated condition and urged the Government to handover the road to BEACON authorities for its maintenance. He said the road is of vital importance as it connects the Ganderbal district with Srinagar.
Raja Manzoor Ahmad said that there is a dearth of doctors in his constituency due to which people are suffering. He called on the Government to fill up the vacant posts of medicos on priority.
Javed Mustafa Mir asked the Government to make a statement on alleged suicide attempt by an IAS officer.
Ali Mohammad Sagar raised the issue of three missing persons of Kralipora, Kupwara and asked the Government to make a statement on this issue.
M. Y. Tarigami raised the issue of low honorarium given to Special Police Officers (SPOs) and urged the Government to raise it.
Hajji Abdul Rashid Dar urged the Government to resolve the issue of dumping of garbage at Sopore and Sangrama. He demanded that a proper site be identified for garbage disposal.
Engineer Rashid raised the issue of vacant post of director at SKIMS. He said that that SKIMS is an important Super Specialty Medical Institute and Government should immediately appoint its Director.
Bashir Ahmad Dar demanded for making B.Ed. degree a one year course instead of two years.
Mohammad Ashraf Mir suggested the Government that trees along the banks of River Jhelum and in the interiors of Dal Lake should be removed to check encroachment.
Devender Singh Rana raised the issue of water scarcity in various areas of his constituency and in other areas of Jammu region. He urged the Government to clear liabilities of water supply tanker owners.
Altaf Ahmad Wani said that about 2000 persons are on strike in Pahalgam demanding permission for performing various works during ensuing Amarnathji Yatra. He demanded that the Government should look into the matter on priority.
Pawan Kumar Gupta demanded an end to nomination system in the Health Department for healthy competition.
Dina Nath Bhagat raised the issue of shortage of doctors and surgeons in Chenani constituency and asked the Government to appoint them at an earliest.
Nawang Rigzin Jora said due to global warming glaciers are fast receding creating water scarcity. He said an engineer in Ladakh region has developed an adaptive artificial glacier technology to address the water scarcity issues and asked the Government to adopt the model.
Rajiv Sharma urged the Government for release of adequate funds for early completion of two main projects in his constituency.

Sat Paul Sharma urged the Government to enhance the age limit for appearing in KAS examinations upto 37 years. He said that many States have upper age limit of 40 years in civil services examinations and Government should also enhance the age limit similarly to benefit large number youth in the State.
Abdul Majid Padder demanded impartial enquiry into the alleged illegal engagements of Anganwari Workers in his Constituency.
Shakti Raj Parihar urged the Government to explore the tourist potential in Doda district and steps be taken for development of tourism related infrastructure. He also demanded for establishment of Doda Development Authority.
Shah Mohammad Tantray asked the Government to carry out immediate repairs and renovation of roads and bridges damaged in 2014 floods in Poonch district.
