POONCH, July 19: Senior National Conference leader and Mendhar MLA, Javed A Rana, while terming ongoing border skirmishes as alarming has asked Central Government to come out of its statement mode and step forward for help of affected people.
In a statement issued here, Rana said that since last couple of months, regular incidents of border firing are taking place and situation is getting alarming. “Border skirmishes have become a usual scene on LoC in Rajouri and Poonch where firing and shelling is taking place almost daily and human lives are under continuous risk,” he said.
“We have already lost soldiers and many civilians in Poonch, Mendhar Balakote, Rajouri Tarkundi and Nowshera and the number is increasing, which is an alarming situation,” Rana said.
The lawmaker also asked Central Government to intervene in this serious situation and come to the rescue of affected population as State Government is hardly visible on ground.
“At a time when PM Narendra Modi is talking about Digital India, our people are living in such a terrible situation that mortar shell rain in villages and whole population gets imprisoned”, he added.
Lawmaker has also asked Centre to come out of apathetic attitude where Government leaders issue only statements after any incident instead of doing something for those who are suffering. “Only statements won’t work, you have to provide best healthcare facilities to people affected and all other basic facilities,” Rana added.
Hitting hard on State Government, Rana said that all the ministers of PDP and BJP are so busy that they are unable to spare even a single minutes for those families who have lost their members in shelling and not even a single leader paid visit to any area and only hollow claims are being made from air conditioned rooms in winter and summer capitals of State.
