MENDHAR, Dec 2: Terming the sanction of Eklavya Model Residential School in Behra village of Mendhar as a landmark decision, which will act as a boon for education of children, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Mendhar, Javed A Rana today called for reforms on basic level in the education sector to bring a positive change in society.
Rana was addressing a gathering at Behra village where this residential school will be set up.
A number of people gathering in the programme, who, in their address said that due to militancy as well as continuous disturbance on LoC, Mendhar Sub Division still lacks some basic developmental aspects which primarily include a good education sector.
Locals further added that education institutions of Mendhar still need major changes so as to uplift the standard of education in this border belt.
Later addressing the gathering, MLA Mendhar Javed Rana said that in 21st century, education is the basic tool for development of any society and should be the top priority of Government.
“Overall reforms of education sector in Mendhar is my top priority and for ensuring extra-curricular activities along with studies in Government schools, grounds in different schools have been constructed,” MLA said.
He further focussed on basic reforms in education sector for a positive change in society and also said that Education Department should focus on rationalisation of staff as per subject need only.
“After degree college, a model residential school was my dream for Mendhar and I have achieved it,” he said.
Rana also seek cooperation from all sections of society in setting up of this school and also appealed people to come in large number on the day when Chief Minister will lay foundation stone of building at Behra village.
