Randhawa apprised of JMC functioning, its projects

JAMMU, May 9: Newly elected MLA Vikram Randhawa had an introductory meeting with the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation for seeking to know about working of different sections of the JMC.
While chairing the meeting, Vikram Randhawa stressed the need for coordinated efforts to see the Jammu City at par with other Smart Cities of the nation. He said that being MLC,  he will take up the matters relating to providing of funds for development, improving sanitation conditions etc with State Government  so that Jammu  city can be an example for other States of the country.
He further stressed about providing of better sanitation facilities to the citizens of Jammu City and also added that there is need of more attention of authorities in respect of improving sanitation scenario in Jammu City. Randhawa added that he shall extend his every possible help to JMC for improving sanitation and other related issues. “There is need to create awareness among general masses about the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission so that every citizen could know that without their help the mission of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan cannot be achieved,” he explained and stressed for the need of team work spirit. He announced to try his best to enlist the support of all the elected representatives of Jammu to help JMC to achieve the goal of Clean Jammu Green Jammu.
R S  Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A),  apprised about different projects/schemes under AMRUT which are being executed by JMC and added that after completion of the said projects, sanitation scenario as well as development aspect will be improved upto large extent.   He further gave details of the some projects like Pedestrian Pathway at Peerkho,) Installation of intelligent traffic signal lights at new identified locations,) Ramp based parking at Panjtirthi, Jammu and   Development of Green Spaces etc.
Among others,   Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer;  Ranjit Singh, Secretary; Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works);   Harinder Arora, Sr  Town Planner;  S Surjit Singh, Executive Engineer (Electric);   Satish Wali, Executive Engineer (Trikuta Division);  Dr  Anita Salgotra, Health Officer;  Dr  Jaswant Singh, Municipal Veterinary Officer;   Kamni Kesar and  Rajesh Gupta, Chief Enforcement Officers;   Subash Chander and S  Prithi Pal Singh, Sanitation Officers;  Prem Raj and Sanjeev Sharma, Transport Officers;  Ankush Kapoor, Informatics Officer were also present in the meeting.
