JAMMU, July 28: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today dedicated newly constructed lane and drain to the public at Lower Gadigarh.
While addressing the people after inaugurating the newly constructed lane and drain at Lower Gadigarh Randhawa said that it was a long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that from last over 15 years, the locals were demanding construction of lane and drain but none had ever paid any heed to their just and genuine demand. Randhawa lambasted the previous legislator for ignoring the people of the area and forcing them to lead a miserable life.
Randhawa said that few locals of the area approached him a month ago and raised their just and genuine demand acting swiftly upon which a detailed project report was prepared by Block Development Officer (BDO) Satwari. “I immediately released Rs seven lakh out of my Constituency Development Fund (CDF) so that the construction is made well in time and the people do not face more hardships in the ongoing rainy season” Randhawa added.
He said that the lane and drain stands completed and now it is the duty of the local residents to maintain it properly as it is now their property. He also urged the people to keep their surroundings clean to make the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’-the prestigious project of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi-a grand success. He further assured the locals to provide them all possible help to carry out development in the area as it is still underdeveloped even after 71 years of independence.
