JAMMU, Aug 24: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and UT Secretary Bhartaiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K, Vikram Randhawa, who is also the convenor of the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojna (PMGKAY) today distributed ration among the beneficiaries of PMGKAY at Ward Number 44, Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that PMGKAY is a boon for the poor people of the country who were finding it hard to feed their families due to non availability of employment amid COVID-19.
He said that the world has changed during COVID-19 and billions of families had been rendered jobless following frequent shutdown and lockdowns to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
Keeping in mind the miseries and hardships of the people, the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched PMGKAY which is providing free ration to the 80 crore families of the nation.
Randhawa distributed free ration among the hundred families who are covered under this scheme.
He urged upon the party cadres to ensure that the scheme is implemented in toto and those beneficiaries of the scheme may be benefitted.
The beneficiaries extended full support to the BJP in the coming future also.
Others present on the occasion include Mandal President and Councillor Neeraj Puri, Hariom Sharma, Shrey Sethi, Rajesh Gupta, Rachit Khosla, Nayan Gupta and Daljeet Singh.
