JAMMU, Aug 19: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and State secretary BJP J&K, Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Geetu Aulakh Member District Development Council (DDC) today kick-started blacktopping of a road from Kukkaraan De Kothey to Barjala.
While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that road connectivity is the key to progress of any area and keeping in mind the upliftment and miseries of the people the blacktopping work on the road starting from Kukraan De Kothey to Barjala has been started today at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore.
He said that the work would be completed soon so that the people may not suffer anymore as the rainy season is going on and without a road people face many hardship to travel. “The construction and completion of this road will ease people to reach their destinations smoothly which will reduce their travel time as well as will save money also”, Randhawa added.
Randhawa instructed the executing agency (PWD) to complete the blacktopping work as soon as possible and also laid stress on quality work. He asked the executing agency to not compromise with the quality of the material for better durability of the road.
He said that it was a long pending demand of the locals which is going to fulfill. Randhawa further assured people that all their demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner and asked Geetu Aulakh to ensure that the people of the area do not suffer more.
The locals present on the occasion appreciated the sincere efforts of the former MLC Ch. Vikram Randhawa and DDC Member Geetu Aulakh. They extended full support to the BJP in the coming future also.
Sarpanch Khandwal, Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh was also present on the occasion.
