JAMMU, Nov 18 : Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa alongwith councilor, Ward No-49, Kamal Singh today inaugurated a transformer at Sarpanch Mohalla, Channi Rama in Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that a 100 KVA transformer in the locality was installed decades back when there were few houses and with the passage of time the number of houses and population increased manifold but the load of the transformer was not revised. He said following this the locals were facing many hardships as there were frequent power cuts due to overload and the voltage too was very low.
Randhawa said that the matter was brought to his notice which was taken up with the PDD authorities and after a brief follow up a new transformer of 250 KVA has been installed today in the locality. Councilor, Kamal Singh also played a key role in raking up this genuine issue of the people.
He said that power is the basic need in the modern time and one cannot even imagine a life without power. He said that BJP is committed to provide citizens with basic infrastructure be it regular power supply, water supply, education or healthcare. He assured the locals to fulfill all their genuine demands in phased manner. At the same time Ch. Vikram urged upon the locals to use power judiciously and get proper connections.
Team of PDD officials and some prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion. The locals expressed their gratitude to Vikram Randhawa, Councilor Kamal Singh and the PDD officials in mitigating their long pending demand.
