JAMMU, Mar 1: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today started pipe laying work under new Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Guru Tegbahadur Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment.
Randhawa, while speaking on the occasion said that the people were facing acute shortage of drinking water supply in the area due to non availability of adequate pipelines and also due to old and damaged pipes. He said that water is the necessity of life and it is the duty of the administration to provide clean and adequate drinking water to the people.
Randhawa said that on the demand of the people he took up the matter with the officials of the Department and he is happy that the work on the same has been started. He said that the pipe laying work has been undertaken by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and would be completed soon so that the people may not face problem anymore in the coming Summer.
He assured the people that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is committed to provide all basic amenities to each and every citizen of the nation irrespective of caste, colour and creed. He also urged the people to remain calm in the prevailing situation and need not panic due to the hostilities on the border as the nation is in the safe hands.
He further urged the people not to pay heed to the rumours as it can do much harm than expected. He also urged the people not to spread rumours that can lead to communal violence.
The locals complimented the MLC and extended full support to the BJP in the coming future.
