Randhawa leads protest against PDD

JAMMU, Oct 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today protested against the Power Development Department, for charging high rates for electricity to the people living under Below Poverty Line (BPL) in Bazigar Basti and Chamiyar Basti of Bahu Fort area.
The BJP senior leader, Vikram Singh Randhawa visited the aggrieved people, who have received electricity bills worth thousands. Randhawa was apprised that they were asked to install the meters by the local MLA and PDD authorities.
They said initially the bills were normal rated but after four months they have received the bills in thousands.
The BJP leaders along with residents protested against the PDD authorities, wherein Randhawa asked the PDD authorities to waive off the electricity bills of these residents, otherwise a mass agitation will be launched against the department.
Randhawa also criticized the local public representative for not taking pains in settling the issue.
Among others who were present include Sharda Devi, Subash Chander, Vinod Kumar, Neelam Devi, Manohar Lal and Rakesh Kumar.
