JAMMU, July 10: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa visited rainfall affected areas.
The areas where Randhawa visited were Azad Nagar, Amar Colony, Bhour Pind and adjoining areas. He was accompanied by Jasmeet Kour Pandey, councilor, Jammu Cantonment.
During his visit, Randhawa listened to the grievances of the people. Randhawa gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the people.
He directed the officials of the UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) to immediately lift the garbage from the nullahs and also take up the construction works of the nallahs in order to provide a better infrastructure to the public.
He stated that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for restoration of flood damaged infrastructure and preventive measures for water logging and submergence caused due to incessant rains have been sanctioned. He also stated that works will be taken up within days.
After hearing the grievances of the people, Randhawa assured early redressal after taking up the issues with the concerned department.
“I am always available for the people who were facing any kind of issue”, he said, adding that people can contact him anytime for redressal of their grievances.
Pitambar Sharma, Inder Khajuria, Davinder Singh, Ashok Kumar, Ujwal Singh and many others were present on the occasion.
